La Chiusa

Is a small country Inn, fine restaurant and cooking school located in Montefollonico between Pienza and Montepulciano, 45 minutes from Siena.

With views from its hill top setting of both Monte Amiata and Montepulciano, LaChiusa was originally owned by a Roman soldier in 300AD and is well known for its long tradition of producing oilve oil.

Tuscan Cooking Lessons

We offer 1/2 day courses as well as our signature 6-day cooking school.

Guests who are interested in experiencing and learning our traditional local recipes and Tuscan cooking techniques which take place directly in the kitchens of the restaurant can enjoy preparing a four course meal over 2 to 3 hours which also becomes lunch enjoyed inside or on the terrace overlooking the valleys.

Cook in Tuscany is a 6-day all-inclusive Tuscan cooking school in the medieval walled village of Montefollonico, Tuscany, Italy.

It includes daily cooking classes with local women, daily excursions, wine dinners and tours, cheese making, gourmet dinners, and tours of local and historic sites.

What's included

All inclusive: All the wine and pasta you can eat!

18 rooms are available at LaChiusa divided between standard, superior and deluxe.

Originally a 'frantoi' or olive oil mill, the 1700 year old property still boasts a grove of nearly 1000 olive trees which supply the essential ingredient for meals served in the in-house restaurant.

You will also enjoy walking thru our lavender fields and vineyards.

All dishes are prepared from fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

What's not included

Airfare and transportation to Montefollonico. But, we can arrange transportation to and from the airports to LaChiusa.

Duration

Private half day cooking experiences as well as 6-day cooking experiences for 10-16 people are also possible and are led by ladies of our village who keep alive the spirit and secrets of their local Tuscan cuisine.
